Academic Career Planning

The term ACP refers to both a process that helps students engage in academic and career activities as well as a product that is created and maintained for students' academic, career, and personal advancement.

We're all part of the team!

Administration, Teachers, Students and their Families, and Community Partnerships will provide the training and support that each individual student needs to find success! Everyone plays an important part!

First Let's

KNOW

We begin the process of helping students to think about their future plans by introducing them to various elements of school based learning. In addition, connecting activities such as school events and community projects help them to see the world in a different perspective. Finally, they become engaged in experiential based learning projects like community service and a various field trips.

Now let's

EXPLORE

A natural byproduct of beginning to KNOW, students are introduced to courses designed to assist them in exploring careers and college choices that can lead them into satisfying employment in a career they have an interest in.

Career Planning Activites

PLAN

Once students have an opportunity to EXPLORE, time is spent assisting and guiding them into a planned course of action preparing them for post-secondary involvement in apprenticeships, the military, 2 or 4 year colleges for the vocation of their choice.

GO
Students are executing their ACP plan to GO and modifying it when necessary. Plans are updated with new information and artifacts. Conferencing and mentoring continues as transition of ACP components are prepared.
